Hi and welcome to our website!
MoyataUlitsa.net contains stories by people from around Bulgaria who have written about the streets they live in. The stories were collected in a series of workshops conducted in Sofia, Varna, Stara Zagora, Haskovo, Vurshets, Kozlodui and Koprivshtitsa under the EU&Me project of the British Council.
The website also contains street photographs taken by workshop participants.
All stories were originally written in Bulgarian. A selection of stories as well as participants' EU hopes and fears is avalaible in English below.
An exhibition with stories and photos by project participants will open at the British Council in Sofia on 28 April 2006. Opening time: 5 p.m. Closing date: 28 May 2006.

"EU&Me"
“EU&Me” is a regional project of the British Council happening in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Greece, Cyprus, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.
200 young people from each country have been invited to share their hopes and fears about their country’s membership in the European Union. Each country decides its own approach within the larger EU&Me theme.
The country theme for Bulgaria, suggested by project moderators Diana Ivanova and Boris Deliradev, is the streets we live in. What are they like? What are the buildings in them like? What are our neighbours like? What are our relationships with them? How are our streets likely to change with our country’s accession to the European Union?
We have chosen to talk about the streets we live in because we believe that if we look at them carefully, we can learn a lot about ourselves and our expectations for change.
Talking about our streets is a way of talking about the EU in an everyday language.
