Vuzhod Street, Fatme Dusheva, Satovcha

I live in Vuzhod (Progress) Street. There are about a dozen houses on both sides of my street. The houses are white or yellow and have two or three storeys. Some are painted in more than one colour or have a stone freeze at the bottom. Most of the houses have animal sheds. Five of the houses have guard dogs.
There are beautiful views from my street: a pine grove on one side, and a hill on the other. These views are a source for positive energy for the people in the village.
My neighbours are good people. We do our best to be good neighbours. During the summer, when most of us are very busy working tobacco leaves, we help each other. Everybody who lives in my street is Muslim except for one family [who are Christian]. When there is a religious holiday, we celebrate together. When there is a funeral, we cry together. Together we try to cope with life’s hardships.
Unfortunately, three of the houses in my street are empty. The owners make their living in Spain. If you want to have the best experience of our street, you must come when everybody is back from abroad. It’s quite a stir!
One of the special things about my street is that most of the people who live in it are young. Every now and then we have a party and the loud music bothers the older people. They want quiet, we want to have fun.
